The concept

A kitea cableand a ground station. That's it.

A smart kite flies high where winds blow strongestpulling a cable that spins a generator on the ground. When the cable is fully extendedthe kite glides back down using almost no energy — and the cycle starts again. Simplepowerfulendless.

Kitenergy launches with a mission to harness high-altitude winds through innovative kite-based systemschallenging conventional wind energy from day one.

First proof of power

The KE60 prototype achieves 60kW of mechanical power in real field conditionsproving the technical viability of airborne wind energy generation.

2017

KE60 Engineering leap

Advanced energy management takes center stage: new DC-DC converters and supercapacitor buffers significantly improve system performance and reliability.

Efficiency breakthrough

2023

Change of paradigm

Years of KE60 testing produced invaluable datareal-world insightsand hard-won lessons. Drawing on every output and outcome from that journeyKitenergy made a strategic decision: reimagine the entire concept from the ground up. TK10 takes flight

TK10the smallest scalable version of the new concepttakes flight. Field tests throughout 2024 collect crucial data that confirms the viability of the new paradigm.

The K100 era begins

K100 takes shape. The ground segment is fully engineereddesignedand assembled. Initial autonomous flight tests validate key control assumptionsproviding experimental proof of feasibility at TRL 3 — transforming vision into validated hardware.

Expo 2025 Osaka

Kitenergy showcased Sun in a Box at Expo 2025 Osaka during the Marche Region Week (1–7 June 2025). At the Italian Paviliondelegates from roughly 20 countries attended our workshop and bilateral meetings — leading to follow-up discussions with Japanese prefectures on emergency-management certification and exploratory talks with major Japanese companies.

In the following dayspresentations continued with government agencies and private-sector partners across Japan and Southeast Asia. Expo 2025 marked a significant step in Kitenergy's international expansionopening new channels for our rapid-deploy energy technology.
