I will be getting a 2026 Type S and since there is no CD playerwhat are my options for audio music sources - other than AM/FM broadcast radio??

* 9/29/2025 >> IMPORTANT UPDATE regarding Sirius XM connectivity & listening to MUSIC... My wife had a SirusXM free subscription with her new car & after 3 yrsbecame a paying subscriber. Before picking up my new MDX from an awesome dealership (Art Wolfe in Overland ParkKS)we contacted SiriusXM and added my device (cell phone) to the account (as the first device addedit was Free). I downloaded the SiriusXM app - AND NOW... I am able to roll down the road in my new MDX and listen to Sirius XM streaming to the car's sound system via Android Auto. The channel & song playing displays on the car's screen - or can minimize if I want to access Google maps. On my journey from the Midwest to the Pacific Northwestthere were a few open prairies and rugged mountain passes where I lost connectivity with my crappy Xfinity cell service - and hence lost the music for a while. ButI drove kinda fast ;) - and was soon able to regain Signal and Music. I have to select Sirius XM channels via the phone app - with my phone sitting conveniently in its charging location next to me atop the console! *

I stream music on my iPhone on coast to coast road trips and it works well along major routesbut there can be areas of no cell connection in more remote areas away from interstates and major highways. There's a plethora of sources available such as PandoraAccuradioApple MusicGoogle MusicSpotifyand lots of others.

You can also store music on your iPhone or a USB stick and play from those.

and satellite radio if you subscribe
The 2025 and 2026 no longer have built-in satellite radio. A number of people have been complaining about it. It's possible to add it aftermarket. If someone is really into SXM programming and doesn't want to add an aftermarket sat reception kit they can stream it on their phone but of course it won't be direct satellite reception and is dependent on a cell signal.

But there are already threads on that topic so hopefully this one won't devolve into a similar "can't believe they took sat radio away' thread. I only mentioned it to correct the erroneous information so the OP doesn't go crazy looking for it when it isn't there.

Congrats on the new MDX — you’re going to love it! It’s a fantastic vehicleand the Bang & Olufsen sound system is one of the standout features above other SUVs in its class when set up right.

To really unlock its full potentialI highly recommend loading some high-quality FLAC files (192kHz24-bit) onto a USB-C drive and plugging it into the port inside the armrest compartment.

Streaming services like iTunes and Google Play often compress their audio quite a bit. While they can still sound decentyou're not getting the full dynamic range and clarity this system is capable of. For lossless audioQobuz is a great store with a wide selection of high-res FLAC files across all genres.

If you have a CD collectionconsider ripping your discs to FLAC or MP3 and loading them onto a USB drive. If you want to go a step furtheryou can also rip FLAC files from Blu-ray audio discs — the system supports surround soundand this is one of the best ways to experience it.

As others have mentionedit’s a bit of a downside that Acura didn’t include XM radio. There’s no satellite antenna in the rear finso adding an aftermarket solution is tricky. My guess is Acura might be anticipating a wider shift away from satellite radio — time will tell.

Hope this helps you get the best sound experience possible! Feel free to share any tips or music recommendations.

THANK YOU for this added informationMike. I looked up the "Kit" to add SIRIUS radio and it sounded like a cumbersome patch job - including adding (for best reception) an external antenna. I am not a SIRIUS addict - but it has proved interesting and entertaining on my wife's 2021 Lexus. Sooo - I will be moving ahead with other options - possibly including what you mention. I can't really fault Acura for wanting to steer away from SIRIUS and their grip on satellite audio. I read even just today that Howard Stern is parting ways with SIRIUS - Seriously! ;)
