Now that the 2025 MDX is out and has some good changeswhat do you guys think of it? Anything that you guys like/don’t like? And which trim do you guys recommend? (SH-AWD)

I think the 2025 MDX made some good changes but I still think there are things that should be changed. For example they should put some more features into the lower trims such as the Tech. A 360 camera should also be on the tech packageand they should bring back the 110V AC outlet. Also it needs third row climate ventskind of surprised how they didn’t add that still.

This was just my experiencebut after trying out the true touchpad interface for a few minutes I did not like it. I was personally not a fan. I think the touchscreen is easier to use. As for the SXMI rarely ever use it so for me it was not a big deal as I mostly just use Bluetooth audio from my phonebut it was an unexpected removal of a feature.

There were two main reasons I traded my 2022 Advanced MDX for a 2025 Type S. The slow acceleration from a stop and loud interior noise. Now I feel much safer pulling into traffic form a stop and feel more like driving a sports car with the turbo engine noise. The extra insulation and better tires makes the car so much quieter inside. I also like the new high-tech stuff like the radar warnings before pulling out from a stop sign. The wheels are so much easier to clean. The painted gloss back lower trim on the frontbacksidesand around the wheel wells is much easier to clean and will not turn white with the sun and time. The car looks so much sportier. The navigation map in the front instrument display is nice. The automatic Google Maps will make things much easier. So far the MPG is about the same as my 2022 Advanced MDX. The Touch ScreenRadioSiriusXMand CarPlay will take a few months to get used to. I need to learn more n using Alexa and Siri. The wireless phone charger and the open the tail gate with the foot actually work now. I can now adjust the car ground clearance from about 7.3" to about 9.3" but have not yet tried that. I do go some off road sometimes as an Archaeologist and will use that. The front side air intake grills actually work with air flowing into small radiators to help cool the engine and turbo charger.
The only negatives so far are using the SiriusXM with my iPhonethe long reach to the touch screen on a few thingsand not being able to use my old cargo cover.

It looks like you are True MDXer from the list of MDXs you have had. Good Luck with your New 25 Type S. I have a 22 MDX Advance for which I am extending my lease for 6 months until February 2025paying $610 a month which reflects about a 3% lease rate according to my financial calculations. I only have 21K miles on the clock and the buyout in Feb will be $35,400 My MDX has been Trouble Free. My "game Plan" (now anyway) is to consider buying the 22 MDX at that time or Opt for a new 25 MDX (either a A-Spec Advance or a Type S Advance) or other vehicle / Brand. At my age 73 in Oct.I can use mostly RMDs (Required Minimum Distribution) from my Pension Moneys. Thanks to the IRSthat is required each year for retirees after reaching 73 years of age. When I recently brought my MDX in for servicethe Dealer was all over me to Lease a New one. There was a Liquid Carbon / Orchid interior A-Spec Advance "winking" at me. But after finding out that the so-called "Equity" I thought I had in my MDX (est. by me at $6-7K) was dashed to a very small number of $1K and a $1K Loyalty Offer from Acura and add'l Cap costs / taxes / fees of about $5500 a new lease payment approaching $800 a Month with 7K miles per year. No way! And this was as we were approaching the last day of the month (July) when the Dealers are The Hungriest. You listed a 2018 Sport Hybrid MDX as one you owned. Acura is remiss NOT to have retained that in their Redesign in 2022 MDXs. If that was available now in 2025I would OPT for that as a No-Brainer.
The 22 MDX is a bit noisy but I do not notice Slow acceleration from a stop at all. What I do usually about 1X a month is Reset the ECU/TCM. I posted the procedure elsewhere on the forum. The ECU/TCU has a "learning" feature (the last 4 Infinitis and 2 MDXs) had it as well. Since I drive primarily locally in Suburbiathe car "learns" the manner of your driving. I saw a Reset trick on the Internet that goes like this: In Parkstep on the gas 2X Without your foot on the brakeHold your foot down on the gas to the floor for 30 seconds (I Mississippietc.) then release it. Then start the car normally. Then drive it pretty Hard (the actual quote on Line was Drive it Like You Stole It). The ECU/TCM Re-Learns and Resets. I notice the difference immediately. Then as I resettle into the older driving habitsI will reset it again in a month or so. I don't know if that is applicable to Type Ss.

Hi. We have a 2025 Advance on order. I was really disappointed to see Sirius XM satellite go away. We do 3 or 4 road trips a year where we are in the desert with no cellular about half of the time. Does anyone have an experience with installing an after market satellite radio in an MDX? Thanks!

I thinkthe new 25 MDX's Touch Screen is considerably better than the one's used in 2020 ? From watching certain reviews of the 25 MDX on lineit appears to perform well (aside from finger prints on the screen) & is Google Based. I'm not 100% certainbut it did appears to show a Full Screen when in AA modeinstead of that silly Dual screen setup. I agreewhy did Acura remove a Sirius /XM radio head unit? Maybe they know something more about its survival as a medium for radio? Or there is more to itto"push" you to subscribe to Streamers and avoid commercials. FWIWI subscribe to way too many ((PandoraSpotify& Tidal). And as Amazon Prime member Amazon Music as well.

There is one consolation to the Touchscreen setup in the 25 MDXthe 25 Mazda CX-70 Premium Plus Turbo S (which is tempting me as a replacement for my 22 MDX on a lese extension) has a similar setup. The CX-70 (and the CX-90) InfoT. system provides a Non Touch Scrteen Dial on the console for the Non AA or CP functions BUT goes to full Screen and Touch screen when using AA or CP. I will need to check whether Mazda eliminated Sirius/XM radio as did Acura.
Notwihstanding the radio issuealbeitthe 25 Mazda CX-70 doesn't have the same level of Luxury as the 25 MDX Advance (or the comfortable & massaging seatsthe superior Stereo sound systemthe Interior Light Show,)but does have the HP and Torque equalling the Type S model for almost $20K less than the 25 TYype S model and $10K less than the Non Type S model. The Mazda is Rear Wheel based AWDthe Acura is Front Wheel based AWD.

I have found that the MDXs with Satellite controlled Climate systems (with sensors and the like)take longer to acclimate to Temps and sunetc. I have a 22 MDX. I'm wondering if that had anything to do with the AC functions. I can say that here with lately cooler morningsI need to lower the setting from 72-70 to 66 or so. After it acclimatesI then raise the setting to 7072etc. I'm sure the 25 MDX Tech was a nice Ride. Did the 25 MDX have the new B & O sound system? It is the new Touch Screen that makes me Pine to consider a 25 MDX when my 22 Lease (which I just extended for 6 months) expires. New cars have a way to Allure you ! That is why the Dealers will give you newer Loaners - to Tempt You!!

I have no problems with the AC on my 2025 MDX Advanced (coming from 2022 RDX Advanced).

I think I wrote something in a different post. I like the car a lot. Touchscreen is infinitely better than the pad though having both (or a dial) closer to my right hand would have been ideal. I still feel a vibration on the accelerator when driving but I have only driven 100 miles so far. I drove my friend's 2024 MDX A-Spec and felt something similar so perhaps I am just too sensitive. Everything else is great so far.

My 20 MDX AC is far worse at cooling vs my 22 RDX and 02 RSX.

Dealer said it is within Acura's parameters with a thermometer on the AC vent. I saw a post a while back saying that the factory often overpressurizes the refrigerant (beyond the Acura service manual spec)leading to much weaker AC in some cars. My dealer said that because it is within thermometer parametersthey couldn't do a pressure test for free. But if I pay for a full AC diagnostic (1.5 labor hours) and they find the pressure is bad then my CPO warranty will cover everything including diagnostic.

One of these years I might take them up on the diagnostic test offer.

2025 MDX Tech. First of allit does drive nicely. Touch screen is good. Sound system is good. HoweverInterior build quality is disappointing. Dash rattles occasionally after driving on rough road. Some buzz from behind driver seat. Door weather seal makes the car look like $20k car. I asked the dealer why the quality dropped so much. He replied "made in Ameriaca" Lol.

Checked about 5 MDX in dealer's lot. The plastic trim board at the rear doors are all misaligned.

It could be a good carif you don't care much about those tiny problems.

PSRDX has better build qualitybut too small for me.

Which part of the trim is misaligned on the rear doors? (So I know where to look next time I pop into a showroom)

Definitely not great things to hear on a car that costs roughly $60,000especially on a car being marketed as a more upscale offering... I’ll keep it in mind and check for it next time I enter a showroom.

My first Acura was a 2023 MDX. I was so excitedbut I can say only "love" the lookbut "like" the car. At 1,500 miles my rearright wheel sensor failed. Every light on the dash came on. Was told supply chain issues so can't get the replacement part for a month. Alsothe car isn't extremely quiet. The tires are loud and road noise can be heard. Lastlyalways had a problem with using my phone in the car. When I call out the other person gets echo sound. I've tried looking up how to remedy it but still no luck. Not the experience I expected for this price.
I was thinking about getting a 2025 MDX in the hope the quality is better. I even already talked to the frankenmuth credit union customer service representative. But having read your postsI decided not to hurry.

Reading these posts referring to the new 25s and as herny says his 23many of which surprise me. I have a 22 MDX Advance since August 2021 (Off hand don't know the Made date). I has been Trouble Free since the day I pulled out of the Sales lot. I leased it. That lease is bnow on an extension coordinated via Acura Financial for 6 Months from */24 to 2/25 at the same Monthly of $610. My Buyout in Augustthe set price in the lease was $38,500 - which reduces about $500 with each month becoming $35,400 in Feb. I'm being tempted to lease a new 25 MDX A-Spec Advance (not too crazy about the Black Wheels) - costing a lot more !! Of Courseprices always Go NORTHand with Inflation which raged since Jan 2021 ( can't Go there)supply chain and Chip shortagesand doubling of Interest ratesthe worst Economic conditions in over 40 years drove up prices Big Time. I am reading much and watching reviews of the new 25s with interest and hesitation. The Salesman makes a few good points for consideration. Why should I lay out about $38K in cash come Feb (with taxes) or some combo of cash and financing (Auto Loans even with Top Tier Credit like myself for used cars is still in the 7.0-7.5% area!!) when I could put up approximately $6K (including 1st monthtaxes and fees + cap money) to get a $750 per month lease for 39 months. BTWthe mew lease would be based on 7500 Miles per year BUT I can roll my extra miles form my existing lease of 8k into the new one? I have only 22.5K miles on my 22 - I'm retired at 73 YO. A crossroad is at hand! If I can get a "better" deal than quoted right now on a new 25 Leasewhy pay the $610 per month on the existing MDX (particulalry if I elect NOT to buy it) and pay the higher lease amount on anew oneand leave my Cash in the Bank (T Billsetc)...

No adjustments.... other than minor changes which to be honest I can't tell the difference. The default is bright washed out during the day dark black and blue/green at night. The map is essentially fixed and that's it. The text is tiny and impossible to see while driving...zoom in and the text doesn't change proportionally. All this may be OK on a phone a couple inches from your nosebut at arms length while negotiating the road is a distraction that may lead to an unfortunate event.

That's a revelation. If and when I test drive a new 25I will be sure to checkout that issue of poorly legible maps (Google Based maps). In my 22 MDXthe cars NAVI is sharp and easily legible. But when I engage AA and use Google maps it is less so.

That's a good plan of Action! If the Honda dealer can exercise the lease payoff that could amount to more $$$$. YesI can cancel the extension at any time before it terminates in February 2025.

I would then push for my best deal for new lease on a 25 MDX via Acura.

I finally decided to turn off the Road Departure Mitigation feature. I still use Lane Keep assist but the departure mitigation was too strong it almost always pulled me in the opposite direction lane. Hate turning off features but now have that off and the drive is much more pleasant. Also have turned off auto headlight brightness. Just doesn't work for city driving.

I have a 24 type s in for minor repairs. I received a 25 mdx advance loaner for a few days. Here are some of my observations.
1. love the new touch screen with google built in. Virtually no learning curve to use the interface. It is so much easier to use than TTIespecially in carplay. Although I admit the closer screen takes your eyes further off the road. Lastlythere are no visible finger prints on the screennon issue.
2. chimes and audio alarms are more pleasant to the ears.
3. the B&O audio is goodbut not quite as good as the elsimo. I noticed a bit of distortion at times in bass heavy music. The system to adjust basstreble is interestingbut I found it awkward to use. I prefer els overall.

i enjoyed getting back into my type s. The powersuspensionand brakes make it an entirely different driving experience than the non type s.

Seems like a very good broad overview. I have yet to try the new B & O sound system in my first test drivehoweverI truly enjoy the ELS system in my 22 MDX Advance ..... The touchscreen is invitingas I still wrestle with what I will do ..Either by mine for $38 K give or take with taxes by Feb. Or lease a new 25 MDX ASpec Advance . It seems that I could get 1.99% financing for 2 years offered by Acura Financial even tho my MDX is not a CPO. Needs more investigation and consideration.

I know of the sat radio being Eliminated from the 25 MDX (totally annoying that Acura elected to do that) - howeverI was just viewing a How To YT Video about the new Touch screen. The reviewer never mentioned an AM radio. !!

#64 ·
Update. A call to Acura revealed that the HD Radio is AM/FM.

#65 ·
Just saw this Homemade YT video about the 25 MDX Type S. They went with the recommendation of a 600 mile "breakin" .

#66 ·
I just picked up my new 2025 MDX and I love the car with one exception...They took away my Sirius Radio interface. The phone app is poor at best with frequent lapses. I just can't figure out why in a $60,000 automobile they would make a bone headed decision like this...There is probably an easy way for Acura to add an app and booster antenna to the car to make it Sirius enabledwhy they havent done it is beyond me...

#68 ·
Mdpete25you should have not been surprised. There were numerous posts here about just that. Yeswhat the hell is Acura thinking and doing. What could they have saved in $$$$$? Peanuts!! This bonehead move is total inconvenience. Turns me off.
