Does anyone know what the exact APN settings should be for:
TRACFONE.VZWENTP
and
VZWINTERNET
Are they the same?
On my Tracfone branded Samsung J3 Luna Prothe access point name is set to VZWINTERNET. It was auto-set that way when sim was activated and it works perfectly. The APN settings are:
Name: Verizon Internet
APN; VZWINTERNET
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: Not set
Multimedia message proxy: Not set
Multimedia message port: Not set
MCC: 311
MCN: 480
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default,dun,supl
APN protocol: ipv4/ipv6
APN roaming protocol: ipv4/ipv6
Turn APN on/off: APN turned on
Bearer: unspecified
Mobile virtual network operator type: None
Mobile virtual network operator value: Not set
Is this the way TRACFONE.VZWENTP is set just with a different APN name? If notwhat are the settings?
Another question: Does anyone here with a properly working Tracfone branded smartphone with native sim activated have their APN set to TRACFONE.VZWENTP?
Added: I do see one slight difference between a Luna and Luna Pro with VZWINTERNET as APN
On the Lunathe APN type is default, dun
I'm curious about this partly because when I get a brand new TF Branded Samsung J3 Orbitwith the unactivated sim in itit is set for TRACFONE.VZWENTP in Settings/Connections/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names. It is set as the APN. I looked at it briefly and the settings looked the same as VZWINTERNET settings. I took a screenshot of it but accidentally deleted it so I'm not a 1000% sure.
Nowif I want to sim swap from Luna ProI have to change this APN in the J3 Orbit to VZWINTERNET because the TRACFONE.VZWENTP APN does not allow LTE data to work. When I spoke with a rep she thought it should be TRACFONE.VZWENTP (though sometimes they are clueless) and she had me set it that way when I was activating itbut when sim was activated in J3 Orbitit auto-set to VZWINTERNETeven with it previously set for TRACFONE.VZWENTP. So upon official Tracfone activation it is set for VZWINTERNET. Changing it to TRACFONE.VZWENTP after results in data fail.
I just think it is odd that it was sort of factory set one way and then doesn't work (though to be fair I think my TF Crown came with VZWINTERNET set as APN). AlsoI get a strange "Open Channel for BIP" message on the TF Orbit and sometimes the TF Crown. Another person complained about this on another forum with a TF Crown. Oftentimes it disappears and stays away but its been a little persistent with a current new J3 Orbit and sim swap lately. I have not activated this one/sim yet. It will still happen after activation but much less. I know it is connected to the sim since If I remove itit stops. I've read different things about this.. that is is connected to the browser or to phone updates.. I wonder sometimes if the APN is off slightly/somehow and is causing this.
