A safer way for kids to call home
When kids are on tablets and parents are in different homes or placeseven a quick goodnight call can turn into a hassle. KidsCallHome lets your child reach the right parent or grandparent with one tap — without social feedsrandom contactsor online noise.
No more "Can you call Mom or Dad for me?" — your child sees who is available and taps to call.
If this sounds familiar…
😰 My child has a tabletbut every call still goes through my phone.
Your child logs in with a simple code and sees big "Call Mom""Call Dad""Call Grandma" buttons — with a clear indicator of who is available to talk.
😰 I don't want strangers'friends of friends'or random invites anywhere near my kid.
Only contacts a parent approves ever appear; there are no public profilesno searchand no friend requests.
😰 The apps we already use feel too open or distracting for my child.
KidsCallHome removes social feedsgroup invitesand sharing features — it is only for simple family calls and messages.
Why I built KidsCallHome
I built KidsCallHome for my 4 young kids. Like many familieswe found ourselves in a situation where the kids had tablets but every call still depended on an adult's phone being available.
My kids were living between homestraveling with grandparentsor just wanting to say goodnight — and those simple calls were turning into a hassle. I wanted them to be able to call family independentlywithout handing them a full social app with feedsfriend requestsand all the noise that comes with it.
So I built something simple: a way for kids to see who in the family is available and tap to call. No passwords to rememberno public profilesno strangers. Just family.
If this helps your family the way it helps minethen it's doing its job.
Why not just use regular chat or video apps?
Most families already use apps like FaceTimeMessengerWhatsAppor kids chat apps to stay in touch. Those tools are built for everyone. KidsCallHome is built just for children and their families.
| KidsCallHome | Regular chat & video apps |
|---|---|
| Only family members a parent approves. No one else can find or contact your child. | Designed for broad contact lists; can include friendsgroup invitesor people outside the immediate family unless every setting is locked down. |
| Simple family list with clear online status and big 'Call' buttons. | Chatsgroup threadsstatuses or storiesmediaand sometimes suggested or non-family content. |
| Kid-friendly code on a Wi‑Fi device. No phone number or SIM card needed. | Often built around phone numbersemail accountsor full profiles managed by adults. |
| Only for calls and messages with familynot a social network. | Designed for broad communication or social networkingoften optimized for engagement. |

KidsCallHome is not another social app for kids — it's a smallclosedfamily-only space for calls and messages.
