Some of you may remember this lot of rifles I picked up shortly after Christmas. None of them were functional and it was truly a "gunsmith special".

From top to bottom:
Marlin 49DL
Glenfield 60
Mossberg 146b (not the topic of this postI'm still waiting on parts)

And a basket case Revelation 120 (aka Marlin 60)

I spent many hours cleaning all 3 and another hour repairing a broken feed throat. Then after replacing 3 recoil springs2 recoil buffers3 missing screwsa missing roll pin2 butt-platesand reassembling the basket caseI ended up with this:

Marlin 49DL

After years of 10/22's --- i have had a basic Model 60 on my mind as something that would be cool to have --- tube magazine eliminates yet another concern

There was a cherry one on the classifieds here a month or so ago --- and your thread does not make me want one any less 👍

It's very likely one of these will end up in the classifieds before long so I can fund other toys. As soon as I can decide which one I can let go of. 🤷

Those old Glenfields used to be the mutt of the MArlin line in my eyes -- but now as i am older and they get fewer and further between --- i like those primitive stampings they used for checkering

A darn cool piece of history for not a lot of coin ---

A buddy sent me a pic of his glenfield 30/30 in deer camp because he knew i loved old lever guns --- he wont sell it but i am glad he is still using it for its intended purpose

Here's the broken 2 piece feed throat I had to fix. The tab that kept the pieces aligned had sheered off. I drilled it outtapped itand realigned it with a screw instead. As you can see above it works flawlessly. You can't even tell which rifle it's in.

Here's a hintit's the one with the model 60 action. Oh waitthat's all 3 of them. 😝
