Set up Google Password Manager on Chrome or Android

Google Password Manager is built in to Chrome web browser and Android deviceswhich means you don't have to install it. In Chromejust turn on sync. And in Androidselect Google as your autofill service by going to Settingssearching for "autofill service"and making sure that "Google" is selected.

Use Google Password Manager on iOS

Google Password Manager on iOS works best when you use it with Chrome web browser. Firstturn on sync in Chrome. Thenmake Chrome your AutoFill Passwords service:

  1. On your iPhone or iPadopen Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Passwords.
  3. Select AutoFill Passwords and then Chrome.
  4. Select Turn on AutoFill.

Once you select Chrome as your autofill provideryou can also use Google Password Manager on any app on your iOS phone:

  1. On your iPhone or iPadgo to an app you want to sign in to.
  2. On the sign-in pagetap the username or password field.
  3. In the keyboardselect Passwords.
  4. To allow autofillyou may need to sign in to your device again.
  5. Select the password you want to use.

View and use passwords

Your passwords are saved in your Google Account. To view a list of accounts with saved passwordsgo to passwords.google.com in any browser or view your passwords in Chrome. To view passwordsyou need to sign in again.

  • To view a password: Select an account and then preview your password.
  • To delete a password: Select an account and then Delete.
  • To export your passwords: Select Settings and then Export passwords.

Import your passwords without losing anything

You can switch to Google Password Manager in three steps.

  1. Go to your non-Google password manager and download your passwords as a CSV file.
  2. Import passwords to Google Password Manager. Go to passwords.google.com and select Settings > Import > Select File.
  3. Delete the CSV password file you downloaded so that the file can't be compromised or accessed by hackers.

Export passwords from Google Password Manager

Go to Settings in Chrome or Androidand then select Passwords. Thenselect "Export passwords." You can also export passwords in Settings on passwords.google.com.
