The coolhigh mountain park offers excellent trout fishing. Anglers can fish eight miles of premier brown trout waters for stocked browns or rainbows. Smaller trout and solitude can be found in the Cimarron River's tributaries -- Clear Creek and Tolby Creek.

The location is simply gorgeous We are are driving across the country and found this lovely state park to spend a few nights. Called the number listed recording said walk in first come first served.perfect. We arrive around 3 p.m. to roped off campgroundsroped off sections. Finally found a spot to set up camp The bathroom facilitates were still closed for the season but porta-potties were available . The condition they were in was disgusting. Didnt look like they had been emptied in MONTHS. As a matter of factlooking at a review from 4 month earlier with the same complaintId say they hadnt been emptied in 6 or more months. Toby Campground in Cimarron Canyon is our favorite state park in New Mexico. It is always very clean. They always have very good camp hosts also the park Ranger is one of the best. We try to go about three times each summer.June 24 Great park by jelsberry
One of the best parks in NM. Cleanlocations are spaced so the views are outstanding.
Plan to return in the future.
