The first features from our cutest drop yet

Unleash new versions of baby farm mobs into testing!

“Until nowthe baby mobs have been scaled down versions of the adult mobs but with big headsbut now our artists have given them unique textures and models that give each baby mob their own adorable look and identity!”

Kai stands in front of a porch surrounded by the new baby farm mobs —pigletscalveslambsbaby chickensand rabbits—under blooming cherry trees. Another player is visible in the distance among the grassy fields.

“Typically mobs in Minecraft have two-pixel eyesbut now baby mobs have just one which creates a new vibe for themwhich is just adorable.”

Agnes LarssonGame Director

“I just think there is something so charming with the new wolf pup designmaybe because it almost makes them feel like little stuffed animals.”

Sarah BoevingGame Artist

A horse stands near a dirt cliff with tiny yellow chicks scattered around it. Grass and a small waterfall sit nearby in a forested area.

“The baby chickens are definitely a favorite too. They are literally just a cube zooming around with their twig legs and the tiniest wings.”

Sarah BoevingGame Artist

“I really hope players get to experience the new rabbit (both adult and baby!) hopping around. I'm especially fond of the "toast" variant and the history behind it. It was added in a while back to memorialize a player's pet which had gone missing. There's something really sweet about being able to immortalize the memory of dear ones in games.”

Two players ride saddled pigs through a village areaholding fishing rods as reins. They pass by a small house with wooden walls and a grassy path with a piglet.

“It was really tricky deciding on what was the best route to take for the lamb. Initially I had a fluffy one with a big wool coatbut it didn't make sense gameplay wise. Mainly because it looked like it could be sheared like the adults (it can't) but also that they didn't really reflect real-life lambs very well. It was a tough choice but I'm really happy with the final baby sheep.”

A Creeper gets chased by several baby ocelots through a dense jungle at nightsurrounded by glowing lanterns and vines.

“Odds are players will run into these features pretty quickly during their first session. Wellhopefully; Minecraft has a way of turning the odds against you.”

A player watches a group of yellow chicks (one named Flo flo) while several wolves (one named Bo) sit nearby in a grassy forest clearing.

“Instead of the up-pitched versions of the adult soundsI wanted to capture the uniqueness of a kitten meow and a puppy yapping to let them have their "own" personalities and bring more life (and cuteness!!) to the Minecraft universe.”

A group of pastel‑colored baby animals—wolf pupspigletskittensand more—gather in a bright cherry‑grove biomewith pink blossoms and green grass around them.

“I meanimagine being surrounded by seven kittens climbing on you = dreamy!!? It was sometimes hard to make them make sounds – turns out animals can also get stage fright!"

A chicken stands beside a small cluster of yellow chicks on a grassy hill. A hand holding a spawn egg is visible in the foregroundwith flowers scattered in the field.
Three large black silhouettes with question marks stand on a grassy fieldhinting at mystery baby mobs. A mountain and forest sit in the background.
