Our goal at Roots & Wings is to help children have a strong start in lifeso that they can reach their full potential. To usa strong start means a child is healthysafeloved and learning. This is why we support basic needsearly learninghealthsafety & justice.

In order to promote health for the whole childwe work hard to address the Social Drivers of Health. We also think a lot about ways to prevent trauma early in lifefunding those whose work is focused on preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences. Helping children grow strong from the roots up means investing in the full continuum of their development. This begins with prenatal care and early brain development and spans a wide range of supports that families need to help their young children thrive.

Because we know just how crucial the earliest years of a child’s life are in shaping their futureparticularly the first three years of physical and cognitive developmentwe prioritize in-depthwrap-around support early in childhood to help set children on a path for success. That includes support for organizations providing direct careas well as organizations advocating for future change. This way we can help families in need nowand prevent future generations of families from experiencing the same challenges.
