Hello max slemon,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
Thanks for sharing the screenshot. From what I understandI see that you're trying to connect a device via Bluetooth on Windows 11but you're seeing a Couldn't connect error. I know how frustrating it is for this to happen to a new device. This is usually because Bluetooth is turned offmissingor the driver is outdated.
I believe that you already tried to make sure Bluetooth is turned on. To assist you bettercould you tell me if you tried all the possible prompts that Windows suggested? E.g. Get help with Bluetooth or check the Windows update in Settings. It'd also help if you can share the specific build of your Windows (About section) and the model of your PC. In the meantimeI can suggest some basic troubleshooting steps that can possibly solve your problem:
1 - Check Device Manager for Bluetooth drivers
- Press Win + X > Device Manager > Expand Bluetooth section
- Right-click your Bluetooth adapter > choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers > Restart PC after done.
- If that doesn't workright-click the Bluetooth adapter > Uninstall device
- Restart your PC > Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
2 - Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Bluetooth and click Run.
3 - Restart Bluetooth services
- Press Win + R > type
services.msc> Enter > Find any services related toBluetooth - Set their Startup type to Automatic (if not already)
- Right-click each service > choose Restart
- If the issue persistsopen Command Prompt as Admin > Run:
-
net stop bthserv -
net start bthserv
-
4 - Check BIOS settings:
- Restart your laptop > enter BIOS/UEFI by pressing F2F12or Del (depending on the model).
- Look for Bluetooth/Wireless settings > Enabled > Save > Reboot.

If you are going to modify BIOS Settingsplease back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.
5 - Using built-in or in-place repair:
- Go to Settings > System > Recovery
- Click Reinstall now in the Fix problems using Windows Update box
Disclaimer: This reinstallation can fix update issues without removing your files or applications. Howeverwe always recommend that if you have important datayou should back it up.
If it failedan in-place upgrade may be the most reliable solution. Follow these instructions to Reinstall Windows with the installation media - Microsoft Support > Navigate to the bottom of the page and expand In-place Upgrade.
Disclaimer: This will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being saidwe always recommend that if you have important datayou should back it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data firstplease do so.
If none of these solutions workyour PC might have a hardware issue with its Bluetooth adapter. In that caseyou should consider using a USB Bluetooth dongle as an alternativeor bring your PC back to the seller to request fixing (especially if it's still in warranty). Thanks for your time!
