English: Original caption by Wide World Photos: This unretouched photographrushed here from London by radiographshows the famed Loch Ness monster as it was photographed by Dr. Robert Kenneth Wilsonnoted surgeon of the London hospital when it appeared out of the waters of the Loch within 200 yards of where Dr. Wilson was seated with his camera. Scottish biologists' to whom Dr. Wilson's photographs were showndecided the pictures were not those of any marine animal or fish known to inhabit British inland waters and none of the biologists would hazard a guess as to what the animal was. The pictures show a long neck and a small head poised above a bulky body. |

[edit]This file is in the public domain because it is a mere mechanical scan or photocopy of a public domain originalor – from the available evidence – is so similar to such a scan or photocopy that no copyright protection can be expected to arise. The original itself is in the public domain for the following reason:
This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightnesscontrastcolour-matchingsharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been madeas well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usagesee Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag. | |||||
