LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A big change in our weather pattern is headed toward Southern Californiabringing cold temperatures and rain for the weekend.
Two late-season storms are expected to dampen the statebut the second will bring the most impact to Southern California. Here's a breakdown on timing:
Friday and Saturday will be mostly drybut some areas could see stray and spotty showers.
The second and stronger storm system will move into the region overnight Saturday into Sunday morningbringing the bulk of the rain. It could also bring isolated thunderstorms.
The heaviest rainfall is expected to hit through Sunday morning as the storm moves eastbut the rain isn't expected all day.
Conditions will then start to clear outbut Monday could see a chance for lingering showers.
Coachella attendees should be prepared for possible raingusty winds and cool conditions this weekend. On Fridaythe skies will be partly cloudy and breezy.
Saturday should be mostly drywith strong winds blowing the desert sand. On Sundayrain is possible and expect more cool and windy conditions.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Friday can expect clouds in the morning followed by partly sunny skieswith a high of 73 degrees and a low of 57.
The valleys and Inland Empire on Friday can expect partly sunny skies with a high of 74 degrees and a low of 54.
Beaches on Friday will see a mix of clouds and some sunshinewith a high of 68 degrees and a low of 58.
Mountain communities on Friday can expect partly sunny skies with a high of 55 degrees and a low of 31.
Desert areas on Friday will see a high of 71 degrees and a low of 52. Palm Springs is expected to reach 88 degrees.
