The Community

Troy Pennsylvania is located on U.S. Rt. #6 at the intersection with PA Rt. #14 near the west branch of the Susquehanna River in the Northwestern corner of Bradford County.  (Northeast Central Pennsylvania).

The northern boundary of the school district is on the New York State line and the western boundary is the Tioga County (PA) line.   Troy is located nearly equidistant between ElmiraNY to the northTowandaPA to the eastMansfieldPA to the west and CantonPA to the south.  Troy Area School District encompasses approximately 275 square miles

The School

Troy Junior Senior High School is a renovated facility boasting a plant and equipment conducive to a superior education.   The high school has grades 7 through 12 with a total enrollment of approximately 650 students.

Troy Junior Senior High School offers a truly diversified curriculum.  Major areas of concentration are academicbusinessfamily and consumer scienceagricultureand industrial arts; with a non-specific general program also available.   In additionTroy Area School is a sponsoring district for the Northern Tier Career Center.  This permits our students a wide range of educational opportunities.

Pupil Assesment 

  • Grading Troy Junior Senior High School awards Carnegie Units based on a 42 minute year-long course schedule.  One credit is awarded for each year-long course.5 credit is awarded for each semester courseand .25 credit is awarded for each 9-week course taken.

  • Class Ranks: Class rank is determined at the end of each year for grades 91011and 12 with an interim ranking at the end of the third marking period in grade 12 to determine certain awards.  The final rank at the end of 36 weeks of grade 12 is based upon eight semesters.
