PIDS exists to promote the health of children through the prevention and control of infectious diseases worldwide. We do this through the discovery (innovation) and implementation of strategies to prevent and treat infectious diseases around the world (impact) while training future generations of pediatric infectious diseases specialists. As we do thiswe are committed to building a professional society that reflects the diversity of those we serve (inclusion). It’s who we are.

Who we are

PIDS (Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society) is the world’s largest organization of professionals dedicated to the treatmentcontrol and eradication of infectious diseases affecting children. Membership is comprised of physiciansdoctoral-level scientists and others in the field of pediatric infectious diseases or related disciplines through clinical practiceresearchteaching and/or administrative activities.

PIDS works closely with many professional organizations that share its goalsincluding the European Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseasesthe Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases in Latin AmericaThe Asian Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseasesthe Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Membership

Membership in PIDS is open to physiciansdoctoral-level scientists and other persons who have training or are in the course of training in infectious diseases or its related disciplinesand who are identified with the discipline of pediatric infectious diseases or its related activities. Membership in PIDS allows you to:

  • Receive a yearly online subscription to the official PIDS publicationthe Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advances in pediatric infectious diseases research findings through educational symposia and membership mailings.
  • Ensure that issues unique to pediatric infectious diseases are thoughtfully considered through collaborative projects with other medical associations.
  • Have a voice in planning the future educational needs of pediatric infectious diseases fellows.
