For the 2024-2025 school yearOklahoma’s homeschooling requirements are as follows:
1. Notice of Intent
- Submission: Parents are not required to submit a formal notice of intent to homeschool. Howeverit is recommended to inform the local school district of the decision to homeschool to ensure proper withdrawal from public school and to avoid any truancy issues.
2. Instructional Requirements
- Subjects: Oklahoma law requires that homeschooling includes instruction in the following subjects:

- Mathematics
- Science
- Social studies
- Days and Hours: Oklahoma does not specify the number of instructional days or hours required. Howeverthe education should be equivalent to what is offered in public schoolswhich typically involves around 180 days of instruction.
3. Record-Keeping
- Attendance and Progress Records: Parents are responsible for maintaining records of attendance and educational progress. These records should include:

- Not Required for Homeschoolers: Oklahoma’s immunization requirements do not apply to homeschooled students unless they participate in public school programs or activities.
6. Special Needs
- Support: Parents of children with special needs can homeschool in Oklahoma. They are responsible for providing the necessary instruction and accommodations. Public schools are not required to provide special education services to homeschooled studentsbut parents may access evaluations and some services through the local school district if needed.
7. Extracurricular Activities
