About Marcus
Marcus helped to establish the predecessor to Ambrose ESOP AdvisorsLLC in 2002initially as a response to demand for better ESOP Management Services from the ESOP clients of its sister CPA firm. Since that time Marcus has become a trusted advisor to scores of ESOP-owned companies in CaliforniaHawaiiDC Metroand throughout the nation. Marcus’ passion is for helping companies maximize the value they receive from their ESOPs by helping them truly understand and make sense of the many complicated issues they face.
Marcus consults on ESOP suitability studiestechnical compliance testingrepurchase obligation forecastingand is a national expert on leveraged ESOP accounting under GAAP and income tax reporting. He is an active member of the nation’s two largest employee ownership advocacy organizationsThe ESOP Association (“TEA”)the National Center for Employee Ownership (“NCEO”). He is a member and past chair of TEA’s national finance advisory committeeand a regular speaker at the Association’s national and chapter conferences. Marcus is also a member of the professional advisory committee of Employee-Owned S Corporations of America (“ESCA”) – a vitally important organization that works tirelessly to promote and protect the S corporation ESOP structure.
Marcus serves as a trustee of the Employee Ownership Foundation to encourage the creation of more ESOPs by educating business owners and employee-owners about the power of broad-based employee ownership.
Knowledgable and experience in individualtrust & estate taxation as well as consulting for audit and tax engagements for ESOP-sponsoring companies. He graduated from Brigham Young University after a two-year mission in Buenos AiresArgentina where he became fluent in Spanishwhich has served him well in educating Spanish-speaking employee owners. He is a proud husband and father of three sets of twins. He volunteers for his local church as well as with several local not-for-profit agenciesincluding as past board chair of his local United Way agency and as treasurer of the Southern California Intermountain Repeater Association.
