Marmorkirken
The Marmorkirken metro station is not only located next to the beautiful old church - it is also in the centre of one of Copenhagen's oldest neighbourhoodswhere major Copenhagen attractions such as Amalienborg SlotspladsLangelinie and Kongens Have are within a few minutes' walk.
The area is also home to a number of museumsincluding the Design Museum Denmarkthe David Collectionthe Amalienborg Museum and the Medical Museum.
Undergroundthe walls of the Marmorkirken metro station are clad in sand-coloured limestone panels in a warmgolden colour inspired by the mansions above ground. The sandstone is characterised by containing tiny fossils that are millions of years old - from fossilised sea urchins to octopuses.
A special feature of the metro station under the Marmorkirken is the depth of the station. When you stand on the station's lowest platformyou are 30 metres below ground level.
