I don´t understand all the commotion in the user opinion section. Is Van Diesel a decent actor or is he not. Can somebody shoot a gun while flying through the air or not? Are the Beatles better than the Stones or is Wet Wet Wet a better band than the Backstreet Boys? It´s entertainmentnothing more. James Bond uses devices not yet invented and Frodo has hairy feet. If you want to comment on the contents and value of a movie I think you must take another movie like Schindler´s List (10+ !)not a movie that was produced purely for the fun. Sit backenjoy the ridedon´t expect any deep going conversation and just have fun.

This movie is unbelievably stupidbut somehow people (including me) like it. Just watch ittake it for what it isand go with the flow. Vin Diesel plays an "extreme protester" recruited by "The Man" to accomplish some vague mission. Don't get too concerned about the missionor anything else for that matter. Anything resembling a plot is present only to justify the explosion or parachute jump or whatever impossible physical challenge the stunt-masters have come up with. Just be happy you rented this instead of paid to see it in a theater. Invite your friends overhave a few beersand enjoy!!!

"xXx" is an Action - Thriller movie in which we watch an extreme sports enthusiast namedXander Cagebeing recruited by the government to stop a group of anarchists.

The movie delivers on adrenalinewith over-the-top stunts and plenty of intense momentsbut it fails when it comes to character development and plot depth. While the action scenes are undeniably thrillingespecially with Cage's daredevil personathe film struggles to provide much else. The dialogue is often cheesyand the motivations of the charactersparticularly the villainsfeel clichéd. The interpretation of Vin Diesel who played as Xander Cage is solidbut his character is more of a one-dimensional action hero than a fully fleshed-out protagonist. To sum upI have to say that "xXx" is fun if you're looking for a mindless action flickbut it lacks the emotional depth or storytelling that could have made it more memorable. It's an enjoyable ridebut don't expect anything groundbreaking.

I am at a loss as to why Vin Diesel is considered something special. Surehe was fine providing a voice for the underrated animated movie "The Iron Giant"but in live action he isn't anything like what I would consider a leading man. Hereas in his other movieshe comes across as as an arrogant and somewhat dumb thug that repulses you. Even Stallone at his worst still gave his character enough believability that you could accept his actions.

As for the rest of the movie... wellit was meant to be an update of the James Bond moviesbut they only got the wordsnot the music. Sure there's an evil organization out to hurt the worldbut it and its members are given paper-thin development and no personality. Surethere are high-tech gadgetsbut they are TOO cartoonyand are presented in a way that doesn't amaze or make you think they're cool. Surethere are foreign locationsbut they are shoved so way in the background that you wonder why they bothered to go on location. Surethere are big and elaborate stunt sequencesbut they managed to be directed and edited in a way that saps out ALL the excitement other directors and editors would have been able to keep in. I'm sure some other wag in these user comments has already said this... but this is more "ZZZ" than "XXX".

Knowing that our government gives extreme convicts a chance to save our country makes me sleep like a baby every night... waitno it doesn't. OKthe storyis incredibly unrealistic and not to mention some of the action sequences that go on. In generalI guess this is what you can classify a "guy's flick". But I'm not sure whyI kinda enjoyed "XXX" because it was very cool just to watch.

I think just to watch these kind of sports are very excitingso you just get into the groove of the movie and except everything that is happening. If you're looking for a great movieI wouldn't really recommend this type of flickbut if you are looking for sheer entertainmentI think you'll get that with "XXX".
