Question Computers judging driftingwhat do ya think??

Found this ladssome of yea might find this interesting.

King of Europethe one and only true European Series always want to be the leader in the drift innovationwe are very proud to be the first to announce the switch to full electronic judgement for our 2011 drift series.

We are releasing a fully customized telemetry system for drifting with an incredible accuracy of 10cm. Telemetry will gather and analyze all informations coming from the carsremoving any chance for mistake or for cheaters to win on the tricks rather than winning on the skills.* In the endtelemetry will give a lot more accuracy to the drifting races than can give human eyes and experience.

"One more time we are very happy than King of Europe is keeping the lead of drifting innovationlike i always sayKing of Europe is lot more than just drifting" said Mike Procureurowner of King of Europe Series.

Next generation drifting judging is starting now and we are sure all drivers will be immediatly addicted to it. This system is of courseavailable for renting or for resale to other drifting seriesany interested person is welcome to see it running live at King of Europe.* Feel free to contact us for more detailed informations about this system at [email protected]

The technical qualitythe detailed results and the performances similar to those obtained on a latest-generation IMUmakes DDS the most innovative and fascinating system actually available for the Drift events. Until nowit was impossible to achieve these performance and results on a small device (the device we put on the car is smallest than a normal smartphone)but now this is reality and all the rest appears prehistory! DDS was developed for all kinds of drift championship. ".

Dataracing Drift System : a fully customized telemetry system for driftingthis system use tri-axis sensorG sensor and GPS sensorgathering informations up to 50 times per second with an accuracy of 10cm.** This system also use live transmission over UMTS networkremoving all data transmission issues that radio waves can have in racing environment.

All tracks(permanent or temporary) are GPS-mappedstart linefinish linestart of judging areaclippoints.* For qualificationsthe system work on its own giving the points based on the line (average distance from the clippoints)speed (average speed on the track)angle (average angle during the lap).* Judges can giving the extra show points.* For battlesjudging will rely on the same package of detailed informationsadding some extra features like the average gap between the 2 cars during the battleas well as automatic understeering detection to take the final decision.

Does that software record the angle of drift at all? If notsomeone could drive through the course and score full points without actually drifting at all...

EDIT: It says it does but I'd say its very difficult to record properly without mounting shitloads of senors all over the car which is awkward for an event with over 60 cars competing and each run lasting 2mins max

Total BS it's like having a computer to judge ice skating.
How can a computer judge and crowds reactions.

I can see some really unfair calls in that comp if they use this.
No more "1 more time's" either. ha

I do however hate the "scream if you want this person to win" aspect of prodriftit turns it into a popularity contest
