It takes 24 months for the young to fully develop and be ready to join us in the world.
Only until they become grown or if they are adapting to a new region
Baby sloths typically stay with their mothers for about 6 to 12 months. During this timethey learn essential survival skillssuch as foraging for food and climbing. After weaningyoung sloths gradually become more independent but may continue to stay close to their mothers for guidance and safety.
Baby ocelots typically stay with their mothers for about 8 to 12 months. During this timethe mother teaches them essential survival skillssuch as hunting and navigating their territory. After this periodthe young ocelots become independent and disperse to establish their own territories.
Elephant girls stay with their mothers for life. They don't know their fathers. Males stay with their mothers about 12 - 15 years. After that they live alone. They never know their fathers either.
They survive by living in their herd/pod/group or what ever you would wish to call it but I call it a familyanyways the baby will live with it's mother and it's family drinking from its mother. If it is a baby male elephant though the mother will care for it until it can eat/drink on it's own then the family will kick it out because they do NOT tolerate male elephants and the male will live on it's own.
