When I tap the screen while watching a video or GIF in Telegram to hide the playback controls (pause5-second skip buttons)they no longer disappear fully. Insteadthey fade into a semi-transparentglossy overlay that stays visible over the entire screen.This glossy effect makes the video or GIF harder to view clearly — especially in darker scenes or when I just want a cleanimmersive fullscreen experience. The previous behavior was much better: one tap and the controls would vanish completelyleaving nothing but the media itself.I understand Telegram has been experimenting with more transparent / “Liquid Glass” elements in the recent updatesbut in the video player it feels like a step backward. The semi-visible overlay is quite distracting and reduces the quality of watching content inline.Thanks for considering feedback — the old clean view was really nice.

This app is always had accessibility bugs in the past. The share sheet is notorious for being completely unusable for voiceover usersunless you want to turn off voiceover and play that random touch game that could cause you to accidentally share with the wrong friendor worse. howeverfor the most partI’ve been able to use the app until recently. nowwith the latest updatethey broke the ability for voiceover to even see the message boxso good luck trying to send a message if you’re completely blind! And it gets worsebecause it turns outnothing along the bottom of the screen is accessible by voiceover. I cannot go into the settings for the appor activate any of the other tabs at the bottom of the screen. Pathetic telegram. This is 2025and there are laws in place stating that this kind of neglect to test the accessibility of apps before they’re released or updated is unacceptable. i’m going to see if I can roll back the updates somehow; if that doesn’t workforget it; going back to regular old text messaging until these issues are resolved. this is incredibly disappointingas my family uses this for our chatand since I live on the other side of the USthis is my primary means of communicating with them.
