2025-26 (Senior)
• Fifth-year senior who has played 98 career games at Nebraskaincluding every game in each of the past two-plus seasons
• Leads NU in steals (2.1 spg) and assists (4.1 apg) and is third in rebounding (5.1 rpg) while posting a 4.4-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio
• Tallied six assistssix rebounds and tied a career high with four steals in the win over Winthrop
• Finished with 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting and added three steals while hitting the game-winning free throw with 0.6 seconds left vs. K-State
• Tied his career high with seven rebounds and added six points and sisx assists vs. New Mexico
• Totaled eight points and four rebounds in NU’s win over Oklahoma
• Had a career-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and tied career bests in rebounds (seven) and steals (four) vs. UMES
• Dished out six assists and added five rebounds and a pair of steals vs. FIU

2024-25 (Junior)
Hoiberg played in all 35 contestsincluding 15 startsand averaged 3.9 points2.4 rebounds1.9 assists and a team-high 1.4 steals per game. He ranked 11th in the Big Ten in steals and posted a nearly 1.9-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio for the year. 

He played a major role in NU going 4-0 at the College Basketball Crowntopping the Huskers in both assists (3.8 apg) and steals (2.0 spg). In the title game against UCFHoiberg dished out a career high seven assists without a turnover and added a pair of steals in the 77-66 win. He reached double figues for the second time in 2024-25 in the semifinals against Boise State with 10 pointsincluding a pair of 3-pointersand had four assists and tied career highs with seven reounds and four steals and added seven points in the opening round against Arizona State.

In Big Ten playHoiberg started 11 of the Huskers' final 12 contests as he averaged 4.4 points1.8 assists and a team-high 1.2 steals in conference play. He closed the regular season by scoring a season-high 12 pointsincluding a pair of 3-pointersagainst Iowa. He keyed NU's win over No. 15 UCLA with seven pointsthree reboundstwo assists and three steals against the Bruins. Hoiberg totaled seven pointsfour assiststhree steals and three boards in NU’s win at Washington and also had seven pointsfour assists and two steals at No. 20 Pudue. 

During non-conference playHoiberg had  nine points on 4-of-6 shooting with three steals in 24 minutes against South Dakota and seven pointsthree rebounds and a career-high four steals in 15 minutes against North Florida. He closed non-conference action with five assists and had four rebounds in the win over Southern.

2023-24 (Sophomore)
Hoiberg was one of three Huskers to appear in all 34 games in 2023-24averaging 3.4 points2.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He posted a team-best 2.5-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio and was second on the team in steals (31). He played in all three of the Huskers' postseason conteststallying seven pointsfour reboundsthree assists and a pair of steals against No. 13 Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament. In Big Ten playhis best game came against No. 1 Purdue when he totaled nine pointsincluding seven points in a 13-0 run to close the first halfthree assists and three steals. He had four assists twice in Big Ten playincluding four assistsfive points and five boards at Ohio State on Feb. 29 and four assistsalong with five pointsin 23 minutes in the win over Indiana in Lincoln. He finished with at least five points on six occasionsincluding a pair of 3-pointers at Rutgers. Hoiberg led NU in scoring against Lindenwood in the season openermatching his career high with 15 pointsalong with five rebounds and two assists before recording a career high four steals in 24 minutes against Florida A&M. He also had a career-high seven reboundsalong with five points and three assists in 16 minutes in the win over South Carolina State. 

2022-23 (Redshirt Freshman)
Hoiberg appeared in 21 gamesaveraging 4.1 points on 55 percent shooting and 1.8 rebounds per game. Over NU's final 12 contestshe averaged 6.6 points per game while shooting 58 percent from the floor and 47 percent from 3-point range. Hoiberg moved into the rotation following Emmanuel Bandoumel's season-ending injury and made an immediate impact with six points and a team-high six rebounds against Northwestern. Hoiberg then poured in a career-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shootingincluding 3-of-3 from 3-point rangeat Maryland. He keyed NU's win against Maryland with nine pointssix rebounds and two stealsincluding a steal and basket with 34.9 seconds left in overtime in NU's 70-66 win. He reached double figures for the second time against Minnesota with 11 pointssix rebounds and two steals in 23 minutes. Hoiberg had nine pointsincluding a pair of 3-pointersand drew a key charge in the win at Iowa in the regular-season finale. 

2021-22 (Redshirt)
Hoiberg redshirted in his first year at Nebraska after walking on to the team. Hoiberg helped to run the scout team in practice and provided backcourt depth. 

Before Nebraska
Hoiberg played two seasons at Lincoln Pius X High School for Coach Brian Spickaearning honorable-mention Class A all-state honors in both seasons. Hoiberg helped Pius X to the Class A State Tournament and an 18-4 record as a senioraveraging 14.9 points4.2 rebounds3.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game. A first-team all-city pick by the Lincoln Journal StarHoiberg was an honorable-mention all-state honoree by both the Omaha World-Herald and Journal Star in 2020-21.  He made an immediate impact in his first season in 2019-20averaging 14.5 points4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as the Thunderbolts went 16-8 and reached the district finals. For his effortshe was a second-team all-city and first-team Heartland Athletic Conference pick. He played his sophomore season at Hinsdale (Ill.) Central and played AAU basketball with Breakaway Basketball before moving to Lincoln when his father was named head coach of the Husker basketball program in April of 2019.  A two-sport athleteSam Hoiberg also played golf as a seniorhelping the school to a runner-up finish at the 2021 Class A State Championship. He also excelled in the classroomearning Academic All-State accolades as a junior and senior.

Personal
The son of Carol and Fred HoibergSam has two brothers (Jack and Charlie) and one sister (Paige). His oldest brotherJackplayed his college ball at Michigan State and UT Arlingtonwhile his fatherFredplayed at Iowa State and spent a decade in the NBA with three franchises. Sam is majoring in sports media and communications.
