阿拉伯文，是全球穆斯林引用的文字，21世纪单就跨越不同国家与民族的最大人口使用文字，一般认为是阿拉伯文，因为数十种文字使用阿拉伯字母，信仰伊斯兰教的穆斯林说的清真言大多也使用阿拉伯文字。阿拉伯文是由28个辅音字母和12个元音符号（不包括叠音符）组成的拼音文字。书写顺序从右往左横行书写，翻阅顺序也是由右往左。阿拉伯字母无大、小写之分，但有印刷体、手写体和艺术体之别。书写时，每个字母均有单写与连写之分。21世纪的阿语在中国属于小语种的一支。

阿拉伯语是以动词为主的语言，由动词根据派生规则可以派生出各种各样的词汇。动词的词型应该就是您所说的辅音构词法。以三母简式为例feale， 开头的法乌和结尾的拉姆均为开口，中间字母阿依努的三种发音（开口、齐齿、合口）分别对应三种词型，每种词型都有其普适的特定含义，就像半主动名词派生规则中每种词型可能代表心情、颜色等普遍含义。这也是阿拉伯语构词法中很重要的一部分。
