About This Cause
APDK is a charitablenon-governmental Organization established in 1958 to improve the quality of lives of persons with disabilities using the right-based approach for social inclusion and poverty reduction. APDK promotes a holistic approach to disability by aligning its services to the WHO Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Matrix. This is a multi-sectoral strategy that empowers persons with disabilities to access and benefit from healtheducationlivelihoodempowermentand social services. You can support our mission today by sponsoring a child for; 1. ClubFoot Care clinic - US $ 15 treatments per session per child 2. Occupational or physiotherapy at US$ 4 per therapy session per child 3. provision of assistive mobility appliances ranging from US$ 20 - US $150 4. enhance mobility through the provision of locally made wheelchairs at US$ 220 – 300 branded with your logo 5. enable access to rehabilitation and assistive devices through mobile clinics in rural areas at US$ 40 per mobile clinic site. 6. promotion of participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of life by sensitizing the communities through our comprehensive community rehabilitation-based program targeting informal settlements in urban areas at US$ 30 per day per technical staff 7. promote the provision of decent work for persons with disability by purchasing products made in our sheltered workshops in Likoni Quality FurnitureBombolulu Workshopsand Cultural Centre you will assist us in the retention of employment for 117 persons with disabilities
