What to do
Go to the Nintendo Account website and sign in to your Nintendo Account.
When signed in you can update your passwordorif you are the admin in a family groupyou can update the password for any supervised accounts in the family group.

How to change your password
- Select Sign-in and security settingsand then select EditEditarModifierEditar in the Password section.

- You may be prompted to confirm your identity by re-entering your passwordre-authenticating with your passkeyand/or by verifying your email address.

If prompted to enter your passwordenter it then select OK.

Passkey re-authentication
If you have enabled passkey authenticationyou can confirm your identity by signing in using your passkey.

Email address verification
If prompted to verify your email addressselect Submit to have an email with a verification code sent to the email address associated with your Nintendo Account. Locate the code in your email and enter it in the "Verification code" boxthen click Submit.
- If you do not receive the emailbut you have registered a phone number to your Nintendo Accountselect Use another method to verify your identity on the "E-mail address verification" screenthen Submit. A code will be sent via text message to your phone number—enter it in the "Verification Code" box and select Submit to verify your identity.
- If you have not registered a phone number to your Nintendo Account (or the verification text message does not arrive) and do not receive the emailplease follow our steps for Did Not Receive a Nintendo Account Identity Verification Email.

Password entry
- If you have set up 2-step verificationyou may be prompted to enter an additional code. Launch the Google Authenticator app on your smart deviceenter the code it displaysand click Authenticate.

No access to Google Authenticator
If you do not currently have access to the appselect Use another method to verify your identity
and use one of the backup codes you received and saved in a safe place when setting up the 2-step verification.

If you do not currently have access to your backup codesselect Use another method to verify your identity on the "Enter backup code" screen
. An email with a verification code will be sent to the email address associated with your Nintendo Account. Locate the code in your email and enter it in the "Verification code" boxthen click Verify.

- Enter and confirm a new password.

Password requirements
- Passwords must be at least 8 characters long.
- Passwords must include a combination of characters from 2 of the following categories: lettersnumbersand punctuation.

Message: Please do not include your date of birth.
Do not include your birthdate as part of the password. An error message will appear if you include your birthdateand you will be prompted to select a different password.

Message: The password for this account is not secure.
If the message "Based on information received from an external sourcethe password for this account is not secure." appears while you are creating or changing your Nintendo Account passwordwe suggest using a different password.
