Let’s be honest - pizza is rarely ever bad. It’s doughcheese and tomato at its core (Italiansplease don't come for us). Neverthelesslife’s far too short to settle for anything averageespecially in a city like London where great slices are everywhere. That isif you know where to look...

From quick lunchtime grab-and-go spots to crusts capable of curing your hangoverand date-night worthy pizzeriasthere’s a pie for every mood.

After plenty of taste-testing (tough jobwe know)we’ve rounded up our 12 absolute favourite pizza spots in the capital.
So loosen that belt a littlehere are the best pizzas in London. (Don't forget the hot honey for dipping your crusts!)

Spring Street Pizza

Spring Street Pizza

Where to find them: Arch 32 (next to Omeara Bar)Southwark QuarterSouthwark StLondonSE1 1TE

Takeaway available?: Yes

We order: The New Yorker

Just a stone’s throw from Borough MarketSpring Street Pizza is turning out some of the best New York- pizza we’ve tasted in London. The 18-inch pizzas are seriously impressive - hugethin and perfectly crisp. Plus you can go half-and-half on every flavourwhich makes sharing (and choosing) so much easier.

We went for half Margherita and half New Yorkertopped with pepperonijalapeños and hot honey (also available halal with turkey). The base was spot on: crispylightflavoursome and just the right amount of chew.

While the pizza is the main eventthe fried breadcrumbed mozzarella sticks were unreal. That cheese pull alone was a full TikTok moment. We also ordered the confit garlic aioli and jalapeños & sour cream dipswhich were perfect for dunking our leftover crusts into. We wrapped things up with soft-serve gelato made with Estate Dairy milk and Madagascan vanillafinished with salted caramel sauce.

With Michelin-starred chef Tom Kemble at the helmthe focus on quality ingredients really shines through - and judging by the New Jersey couple next to us calling it some of the best they’ve had in the UKwe’re not the only ones impressed.

The live sourdough bases means you get the ultimate mix of soft pillowy dough and a crisp edge. And when it comes to the toppingsthey keep things simplethe classic margherita is delicious and we sometimes like to switch it up with more meaty toppings and opt for the Diavola Piccante or the Salsiccia.
