Hilda Carver McLucasage 82of DillardGeorgiapassed away on ThursdayMay 12025.

Born on November 161942in Rabun GapGeorgiaHilda was the daughter of the late Buster “Buck” Carver and Leona Thomas Carver. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbandAndrew McLucas.

Hilda was a true entrepreneur at heart. She owned and operated Hilda’s This and That in McDonoughGeorgiaand also ran a daycareboth of which reflected her dedication to serving others. One of her greatest passions in life was travel—she especially loved visiting Alaska and Ireland. Even in her later yearsshe continued to travel to Florida and Tennesseeoften enjoying girls’ trips and attending races in Daytona.

Easter was Hilda’s favorite holiday. Each yearshe hosted a Saturday cookout where loved ones would gather to dye eggs. On Easter Sundayshe loved bringing everyone together for a heartfelt family and friends gathering filled with good foodlaughterlove and a festive Easter egg hunt. Hilda took great joy in personally filling Easter baskets for each guest to take homecreating cherished memories for all who attended.

She is survived by her sisters: Mary Jane McCoy of Rabun Gap; Claudia Dodgins of ClaytonGA; Katie Woodall of TigerGA; Brenda Gass of WhittierNC; Phyllis Ramey of LakemontGA; Faye Partain (Steve) of EllenwoodGA; and Kaye Collins (David) of TigerGA. She also leaves behind numerous niecesnephewsgreat-niecesgreat-nephewsand many dear friends.

In addition to her husband and parentsHilda was preceded in death by her sisters JoAnn Chastain and Earline Benfield; her brotherJohn Zeb Carver; her nieceDebbie McCoy; and her nephewMatthew Woodall.

Funeral services will be held on MondayMay 52025at 11:00 am at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on SundayMay 42025from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home.
