Meet The Oberleys

On December 28th2022David and Leanna Oberley purchased Hunter Funeral Home. The Oberleys are natives of FranklinNorth Carolina with family roots in Rabun County. In 2020they moved to Wiley to begin their family and fell in love with the area. David brings 13 years of experience to the business and has worked with the Hunter Funeral Home family for the past nine months learning about the operations and traditions. David graduated from Gupton – Jones College of Mortuary Science in 2009. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Georgia and North Carolina.


They are truly honored for the opportunity to serve the families of Rabun County with respect and compassion in their greatest time of need. While a change in ownership does represent an important milestoneHunter Funeral Home will continue operating as they have for the past five decades.
