A few weeks ago I decided to try the Flowmaster 50HDcoming from multiple (MagnaflowBorlaAfe) straight-through mufflers the first thing I noticed is that it had more torque under 2500 rpm. I did a few WOT pull and it didn't felt as strong as beforebut could have been in my head.

Nowlast week I've hooked up 2000lbs to the truck and it instantly felt like I was pulling a lot more. I've pulled the same 2000lbs before and could barely notice it on regular acceleration. Tried to do a 60-90 on the highway and the truck now definitely struggle up topbefore it would pull now it's mostly just noise

Truck have ARH LT with HF cats and 91 tuneI've ordered another Magnaflow 22" and will try again and hope it's just the muffler that is too restrictive.

I've had multiple mufflers as well. I now have a Flowmaster 50HD and noticed that my truck has a little better overall response. Pickup seems a little more instantaneous compared to the straight thru designs I had on before. Granted my truck is stock except for the muffler change. Not sure if your LT headers and high flow cats could make a differencebut I guess it's possible.

Yupprefer the tone of the single 3"but need something that's not brutal on cold start since the truck is literally right on the neighbor house

In the city the 50HD is great. An electric cutout would be a solutionbut from what I read they are all crap when it comes to cold climate(freeze/corrode)

The flowMaster is more restrictive which helps with low rpm scavaging which promotes low end tq production. The higher flowing straight through mufflers offer much less restriction and thus shift the scavaging and flow into a higher rpm hence they they pull up top. For a 350cuin motor like the 5.7 Hemi a good balance for low rpm grunt and decent mid to upper breathing would be some long tubes with a smaller primary like a 1 5/8” OD. Too many people jump to a 1 3/4 or 1 7/8” and loose low end where u spend 90% of the time.

Chambered mufflers will not flow anywhere near as well as a straight thru especially with a heavy load and higher in the rpms.

Not sure if a direct bolt in muffler kit will work for you but for a straight thru design that isnt too loud I would recommend this

We have some other optionslet me know if we can help
too bad they don't make their mach 82 ( 22" 5x11) muffler in 3" in/out.

How does the mach 34 compare in loudness to an 18" Magnaflow?

I havent heard the 2 next to each other but I would say they are very close in volumealmost the same. Tone is similar as well

Is that solo muffler you linked to 304 or 409SS? And the piping?

That’s the same thing I went through on my old 2013. But I had an off brand chambered muffler on first and the low end was awesome. After that I did a muffler delete straight through and lost on the bottom end Big Time; but from 60-120mph it would dig like a mother. It all depends on where you want the powerup high or down low.

So installed the replacement 22" Magnaflow and bam! power is back up top. Glad it was just that...

I prefer it this way1st with the 8speed and 3.92 doesn't need much to get you moving and I can manually shift to keep the rev higher.

YeahI was really worried that something was wrong.

I guess I'll simply replace my Magnaflow every 2 yearsbut since I didn't install the tail pipe this time and dump in front of the axle with the exit oriented at the bottomthe muffler should not fill itself with water/condensation and freeze next winter.

There is a reason many people in the performance community refer to Flowmaster as Crapmaster or Chokemasterat least referring to the 1040 and 50 and everything else in the chambered series. They have a straight through design as well so at least that one should not suck the performance out of you motor up top :)

With LT yeah the 50 HD was too restrictive and kill the gain of the LT. On a stock truck it should be fine IMO.

On another notelove the dump at the muffleryesterday when a kid (A guess since I could only see the roof) was revving is 4 banger beside me at the lightlight switched to green and the exhaust literally blown dust from the ground and leaving him in the dust. :)
