Default Spirit Airlines Jumpseat

I am trying to jumpseat on Spiritfrom FLL to DCA this week. I tried to list with Spirit reservations. They would not do it. Does anyone have any info on the procedure to get jumpseat on Spirit. I believe the flight that I am trying to get on has seats available in the backso I doubt I would actually sit up front. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Your jumpseat coordinator is probably the one to ask. Here is what was sent out by the Spirit jumpseat coordinator:

Spirit Airlines (NK)
http://www.spiritair.com

Go to the departure gate and obtain the necessary form from the gate agent. Credentials should be presented to both the agent and the captain. Business attire or uniformcompany ID and pilot and medical certificates are required. Arrive at the gate at least 1 hour before departure. Offline priority is first comefirst served. The airline has an unofficial policy to carry as many jumpseaters as there are empty seats in the cabin. We are CASS so two cockpit seats are available. At some airports we don't servea gate pass may be required. Since we are operating with usually one agent per flightlast minute run ups will probably not get on as the agent has no time for the processingif possible try and get to a supervisor and get CASS processed at the ticket counterand for international destinations the tax on the ticket will be charged. For flight informationcall 1-800-772-7117 I am pleased to announce Spirit Airlines has made available Toll-free and International telephone numbers for all off-line reciprocal Airline Partners to call and pre-list for Jumpseat(non-rev) In additionSpirit will furnish the caller with a record locator for faster processing when checking in . The current situation in Fort Lauderdale has been less than stellar to put it mildlypartly because of the rapid turnover of agentsand secondlydue to the fact that one agent is usually alone to board the flightwhich allows no time for the processing of a jumpseater. Spirit Airlines management is committed to improving the offline jumpseat processand has agreed to commit IT resources to redesign our CASS system for greater efficiency. The addition of dedicated numbers for pre-listingwill reduce the time needed at the gate to process the offline jumpseat requests. The following numbers should be made available to all your PilotsFlight Engineersand Dispatchers who are eligible to occupy a cockpit jumpseat if no cabin/flight attendant jumpseat is available. These numbers route directly to the Spirit help-deskwhich is manned 24 hours a day. Since the help-desk is not dedicated to jumpseaters onlythe best time to call is after 1700 EST. Toll Free # 866-609-8858 International Listing # 954-447-8008 The Spirit Airlines ALPA Jumpseat Committeealong with Spirit Airlines Managementwill continue to work together diligently to improve your jumpseat experience when riding on Spirit.

Not difficult at all. I just jumpseated to ATL from FLL in business class with no prob. Just go to the ticket agent and give em your credentials. I was cleared under a 1/2 hour. Great folks at Spirit. I wish em well.
