Founder Henry Gass Sr.was born May 131844in Canton BaselSwitzerland. He came to the United States in 1866. He lived a short time in Illinois and Pennsylvania where he was employed in a furniture storeand in 1870 moved to ColumbusNebraskawhere he made his home.
