Wanda Hendrix Smalley Shelby

Mrs. Wanda Hendrix Smalley Shelby83of Bolivardeparted this life on TuesdayFebruary 142023at Christian Care Center in Bolivar.

A native of Bethel SpringsTNshe was the daughter of the late Ray A. and Onnie Belle Chapman Hendrix.  Retired in 1987 from W. R. Grace and Company in Memphisshe served as executive secretary.  She married Mr. Billy Smalley on December 201971and he passed away August 171995.  She was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.

On March 111997she was united in marriage to Mr. Billy C. Shelbywho survives.  They loved travelling together visiting all of the lower 48 statesCanada and Nova Scotia.  The Shelby’s would spend winter in NaplesFLenjoyed visiting the Great Smokey Mountains and BransonMO and many other interesting places.

In addition to her husband of nearly 26 yearsshe is survived by two sistersCarolyn  Smalley of Cordova and Patsy Holder (James) of Grand JunctionTN; one brotherTerry Hendrix (Mary) of Memphis; one step-daughterKerri Rainey; three step-grandchildrenBlake RaineyAshley Rainey Patrick and Courtney Rainey Cole; four step-great-grandchildrenRaylan and Henry PatrickJuliana and Bradley Cole; three niecesSuzanne Smalley InghramHolly Hendrix Vitalis and Teresa Hendrix Daniel; two great-nieces and two great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husbandshe was preceded in death by two brothersBobby and Perry Hendrix; and a step-daughterMelinda Shelby.
