Real timber built for everyday living. Our hybrid flooring delivers a natural plank look with a rigid SPC core that’s made to handle busy Aussie homes.
Hybrid flooring (often called SPC hybrid flooring) is a smart pick when you want a timber-look floor that’s toughstableand low-fuss. It’s ideal for high-use areas like living roomshallwaysand kitchens—especially if you’ve got kidspetsor constant foot traffic.
To get hybrid flooring rightfocus on the things that actually matter: a solid locking system (tight joins)a quality wear layer (daily protection)and a finish that looks convincing in real lighting (not just in product photos). And while hybrid handles day-to-day spills wellthe simple rule is still: wipe up water quickly and don’t let it sit in joins.

Your Hybrid Flooring FAQ's
Here are answers to some of the most common questions about our hybrid flooring products. If you still can’t find what you’re looking forjust reach out to our team here.
Is hybrid flooring water-resistant?
Most hybrid flooring is water-resistantnot magically waterproof in every situation. A lot of brands these days claim “100% waterproof” – that’s only partly true and really just refers to spills on the top of the board.
Surface moisture (spillsmoppingwet shoes) is fine as long as it’s wiped or mopped up reasonably quickly. The real problem is moisture coming from underneath – a damp slableaksor constant moisture under the boards can cause issues over time.
Good hybrid products use a moisture-resistant IXPE underlay to help protect against this. Cheaper brands often skip this or use low-grade backingwhich is why you see warpingpeaking and bubbling when moisture shows up.
Our hybrid range is water-resistant with an IXPE backingso it’s about as water-resistant as hybrid flooring gets – as long as it’s installed on a drysound subfloor and basic common sense around moisture is followed.
Does hybrid flooring scratch?
Hybrid flooring is built to be tough. The wear layer on top is designed to handle everyday life – kidspetsguestsand regular foot traffic – without looking wrecked after a year.
That saidno floor is completely scratch-proof. If you drag a metal chair lega sharp stoneor a knife across itit will mark. The goal with hybrid is high scratch resistancenot invincibility.
A few simple habits will keep it looking new for longer:
Liftdon’t drag furniture (use felt pads under legs where you can).
Keep pet nails trimmed so they don’t constantly scuff the surface.
Avoid harsh tools like wire brushessteel woolor super-abrasive pads.
Use mats at entry points to catch stonesdirt and grit before it gets dragged through the house.
Clean regularly with a soft broom or vacuum (hard floor head) and a damp mop.
Overallgood-quality hybrid flooring is very scratch-resistant and durable for everyday use. Treated with a bit of common senseit will hold up extremely well and stay looking sharp for years.
Does your hybrid flooring come with warranty?
Yes. Our hybrid flooring range is covered by a 20-year residential warrantya 3-year commercial warrantyand a lifetime structural warranty on the core of the board.
This warranty covers manufacturing and structural defects in the hybrid flooring when it’s installed and maintained correctly in suitable areas. In simple terms: if your hybrid boards fail because of a product fault (not water damagemisuseor poor installation)you’re covered.
Whether it’s for a home or a light commercial projectyou can choose our hybrid flooring knowing it’s backed for the long term – including the structural core of each board for the lifetime of the floor.
Does your SPC hybrid flooring contain silica?
No. We can proudly say our SPC hybrid flooring range contains 0% silica.
That means when you’re cutting and installing our boardsyou’re not filling your home (or lungs) with harmful crystalline silica dust.
Here’s what that actually means in plain English:
What is silica dust in SPC flooring?
Silica dust is a very fine airborne dust created when cutting or grinding materials that contain crystalline silica – which many SPC (stone plastic composite) floors do. Once it’s in the airyou can easily breathe it in without realising.
Why is silica dust a problem?
Breathing in silica dust over time can lead to seriouslife-threatening lung disease. Think of it as the modern version of asbestos – tiny particles that sit in the lungs and cause permanent damage. It’s a big deal in construction and manufacturing.
What’s different about our hybrid flooring?
Our SPC hybrid range is formulated to contain 0% silicawhich means:
No silica dust released when cutting the boards
No toxic residue left in your home after installation
Much safer for DIY installs and for trades who are cutting boards all day
So if you’re looking for a hybrid floor that’s toughgood-lookingand safer to work withour 0% silica SPC range is built exactly for that.
Can I install hybrid over existing tiles?
Yesyou can install hybrid flooring over existing tilesas long as the tiles and subfloor are suitable.
Hybrid is a floating floorso in theory it can sit on top of most hard surfaces. The important part isn’t that it’s tilesit’s that the surface underneath is flatcleandryand stable. The tiles should be level with no obvious lips or raised edges. If there are high spotslippageor dips between tilesthey should be ground down or filled before installation. All tiles also need to be firmly stuck down. If you tap and hear hollow spotsor any tiles are loose or crumblingthat needs to be fixed first. Hybrid flooring over a moving or unstable surface will cause problems later.
The tiled floor must be cleaned properly so there’s no dustgreaseglueor silicone left on the surface. The subfloor should be drywith no moisture issues coming through the slab.
Grout joints are the last thing to think about. If the grout lines are shallow and fairly narrowhybrid will usually go straight over the top and feel fine underfoot. If the grout joints are wide or deepyou might feel a slight pattern underfoot where the joints are. It’s not usually a structural problembut if you want a perfectly smooth“new slab” feelit’s better to do a skim coat or flood coat over the tiles first to level everything out before laying the hybrid.
In shorthybrid over tiles is completely finebut only if the tiles are flatsolidcleanand dry. Spending a bit of time on prep will make a big difference to how professional the finished floor looks and feels.
What’s the difference between SPC and WPC?
SPC and WPC are both types of hybrid flooringbut the core inside each board is differentand that’s what changes how they feel and perform.
SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite. It has a very denserigid core made from limestone and PVC. Because of that densitySPC handles heavy trafficfurnitureand temperature swings really well. It’s more stableless likely to moveand generally better in areas that cop a lot of use – kitchenshallwaysliving areasrentalsand light commercial spaces. The trade-off is that it feels a bit firmer and harder underfootand can sound a little sharper without a good underlay.
WPC stands for Wood Plastic Composite. The core is a foamedlighter mix that includes wood or wood-like fibres. It’s still water-resistantbut not as dense as SPC. That makes it slightly softer and warmer underfootand a bit quieterwhich some people like in bedrooms and lounge rooms. The downside is that it’s not quite as tough against dents and heavy point loadsand it can be a little less stable in extreme temperature changes.
In simple terms: SPC is the toughermore rigid option that’s built for stability and abuse. WPC is more about comfort and a softer feel underfoot.
