As the World Turns would film there after Another World was canceled.

I was under the assumption that Our Five Daughters was also filmed in that studio and that Another World used some of its sets.

Alsothat Search for Tomorrow taped in the same studio (Screen Gems East 44th St ) after the cancellation of Edge of Night.

I wonder where The Edge of Night was taped when it aired on CBS?   I understand that it was a former movie studio.

Do you mean all of the shows that CBS owned in 1970s (Love of LifeThe Secret StormLove is a Many-Splendored Thingand Where the Heart Is) orin additionthe other shows that were airing on CBS (Search for TomorrowAs the World TurnsThe Guiding Lightand The Edge of Night)?

In 1977 when Guiding Light expanded to 1 hour and needed extra studio spaceSearch for Tomorrow relocated to West 57th St from West 26th St in Manhattan.

Tues August 18 1965 Guiding Light ceases production at 15 Vandebilt and moves to CBS Broadcast Center on 57th St.

15 Vanderbilt was part of Grand Central Station and was where CBS Television and WCBS  began.

Guiding Light's departure was the end of that location as a TV studio.

Here is some information about the studio in which The Doctors was produced throughout its run:

NBC News confirms plans to split Studio 3B into two spaces:

NBC will be splitting 30 Rockefeller Center’s Studio 3Bthe former home of “NBC Nightly News,” “Dateline NBCRock Center” and other programsinto two smaller spaces for WNBC and WNJUa spokesperson confirms to NewscastStudio.

News of the potential split was first hinted at after public building records were discovered on the TV news fan site TVNewsTalk. NewscastStudio reporting has confirmed that the documents are authentic and NBC has confirmed that they do accurately represent plans to split the space.

In January 2022, NBC announced plans to move its owned Telemundo affiliateWNJUinto 30 Rock so that it could share resources with WNBCwhich it also owns.

At the timeplans indicated a new second-floor workspace for the two entities would be builtbut no plans for studio space were included.

Nowan NBC spokesperson has confirmed that the space currently known as Studio 3B will be split into two, as indicated by the planswith one dedicated to NBC News 4 New York and the other to Telemundo 42. Plans on public record with New York City show the space is divided into two essentially equal sizesdesignated on the plans as Studio 3B-1 and Studio 3B-2. Howeverit’s not clear which one will be assigned to which affiliate or if those will be the final designators.

The plans also include two ghosted-out scenic design ground plansbut there is a note on the drawings that says these are meant for illustrative purposes only. It also appears that NBC will be adding a small enclosed workspace to each spaceperhaps for robotics or teleprompterand those rooms will be interconnected.

Studio 3B is a historic part of 30 Rock. It is reportedly one of the only studios to have never had its size or footprint significantly changed since the building was constructed in 1933originally for radio production.

It’s also been the home to the “Huntley-Brinkley Report” and daytime serial series “The Doctors” (not to be confused with the present-day syndicated daytime talker).

In the early 1990sit became home to a sprawling studio set for “Nightly” that included a projection screen (which was state-of-the-art at the time)small in-studio workspace and an anchor desk at the center. It would also become home to “Dateline NBC” for a period of time.

The set was modified numerous timesincluding removing the smaller projection screen in favor of rear projection cubes in the mid-1990s and several changes to the primary backgroundeventually settling on newsroom duratrans.

The set was also usedover the yearsfor various other NBC News productionsincluding “Sunrise.” Many elementssuch as header signagecould be changed out as needed depending on the production.

In 2000“Nightly” moved out of 3Arelocating to its own dedicated set in Studio 3C. The set in 3B was removed and replaced with a sprawlingwraparound set for “Dateline” that included multiple venuesa balcony and stairway. This set was repurposed during election coveragemost memorably during the 2000 election.

In 2011“Nightly” would move back to Studio 3Bagain sharing with another program — this time it was the newly-created magazine show “Rock Center.”

That set featured two areas that could be used separately or togetherroughly following how 3B would be sub-divided in the proposed plans. The west side of the space was primarily used for “Nightly” while the east side was for “Rock Center,” though portions of the opposite side of the space would show up on both programs.

Eventuallythe set was heavily modified to remove the built-in seating and coffee tableand once “Rock Center” was canceled, would eventually move “Nightly” over to that side of the space in 2014presumably to take advantage of the rear projection screens.

It remained that way until moving back to 3C in 2017. Since thenthe studio has largely been used for pre-taped segments and interviews.

WNBC has also hopped around Rockefeller Center. For yearsit was based in Studio 6Bfeaturing a large blended rear projection background that used specially-engineered mirrors to eliminate the need for standard throw distance behind the set. That space is now home to “The Tonight Show.”

The local news would then move to the 7th floor next to a new newsroom for the stationas part of NBC’s plans to create a local 24-hour news channel in major markets that would share resources with its existing news team.

After that plan was walked back onWNBC would eventually wind up in Studio 3C in between the times “Nightly” occupied it. It then moved to Studio 3Kwhere it is based today.

NBC has confirmed that WNBC will now move into one-half of the space formerly known as simply 3B sometime in the relatively near futurethough the exact timing was not announced.

This would mean that Studio 3K will become availableperhaps for use by NBC’s increasing needs for production for its digital platforms. It’s also possible it could become home to a new syndicated show produced by the network.

WNJU is licensed to New Jersey and will maintain the physical presence there required by its license. Although not in namethe station is still considered part of the New York metro market and covers the city and New Jersey as well as other nearby communities.

Here is something that I found on the original studio where Dark Shadows was produced:  It was dated TUESDAYFEBRUARY 92016.

"Wellthis is depressing.

The location of the studios where the original DARK SHADOWS television series was taped is scheduled for demolitionaccording to The Real Deal. I've spent the last few years pouring over the history of the television showand have seen hundreds of photos of cast members interacting with fans outside during breaks in filming. While I wasn't part of this communityit's difficult not to feel a sense of sadness on hearing about the building's pending demise.

The 10,000 square-foot block-thru propertylocated at 442 West 54th St.is expected to be demolished to make way for a pair of six-story residential buildings. Emmut Properties paid $25 million for the propertyit was announced in January.

A deadline for construction on the new properties has not yet been disclosed soif you've ever wanted to get a gander at where DARK SHADOWS was tapedyou'd better move fast.

Where was The Nurses (during its ABC daytime run) taped?

The original primetime series was produced at Filmways Studios in East Harlem.  Was the daytime version also taped thereor had the production moved somewhere else?

"Another WorldSomersetLovers & Friends/For Richer For Poorerand Texas were filmed at the NBC Studios in BrooklynNY."

Wasn't Our Five Daughter produced there also?    Andwhere were Ben JarrodAttorney at Law and (later) Hidden Faces and (still later) How to Survive a Marriage produced?

How To Survive a Marriage was Metromedia production and I have the feeling they had a studio in NY. I'll see what I can find  out.

I would assume Ben Jerrod was taped at the NBC Burbank studio where Days of Our Lives was later taped.

When A World Apart and Best of Everything began ABC had to find outside facilities to produce them.

A World Apart- Reeves Telecom  Lincoln Square

Best of Everything - Metromedia WNEW TV East 67 th St.

This information from Variety contradicts what was posted aboveso I can only surmise that ABC moved them back to their own studios during their runs. Although BOE was shortlivedso it seems odd that a move would have happened in those months.
