Your canceled check is your receipt. Within a weekverify that your check cleared with your bank. You may verify the posting of your tax payment at this website by clicking on "payment status" and entering the 14-digit PIN and security code provided.
Please note thatper Illinois lawonly payments mailed through the United States Postal Service in envelopes bearing a United States Postal Service postmark (not postage meter) will be recorded as paid on the date the payment was mailed.
By contrastpayments sent by private carrierssuch as FedExUPSetc.will be recorded as paid on the date the payment is received by the Cook County Treasurer's Officenot the date the payment
was mailed.
Mailed payments may be returned if they lack adequate information for processingsuch as the PINthe original payment couponand the identity of the person(s) or entity submitting the payment. Payments issued by foreign banks or foreign bank accounts
cannot be processed and will be returned. If a payment is returnedadditional statutory interest may accrue.
It is recommended that companies intending to make numerous individual paymentsand needing duplicate bills in order to do soutilize our TPA Program. Please see the TPA site at https://tpa.cookcountytreasurer.com/ for additional information.
Submit your original payment coupon and payment for any current tax bill issued by the Cook County Treasurer's Office at any of the nearly 400 Chase Bank locations in Illinois. You may also submit your payment through a participating community bank. You
must have an account at the community bank in order to tender payment.
