Jobs

The RCAF produces some of the most diligent and skilled pilots and aircrew in the world. Opportunities go far beyond those occupationshowever. Choose from a variety of jobs in different fields including Aerospace Telecommunication and Information Systems TechnicianMusicianBioscience Officeror Construction Technician.

Time on the job is also given to ensure you are physically fitallowing you to lift weightsplay sportsparticipate in Martial Artsor a multitude of other healthy living activities. Every baseunit and wing has a variety of both team and individual sports for athletes of all kinds.

Pay

CAF members are paid based on their pay grouprankand time in rank. All service personnelmen and womenmarried or singleare paid on the same scale. An Aviator that has just joined can earn $52,044 annuallyincreasing to $82,296 when they reach the next rank of Corporal. Specialty pay for certain occupations can increase potential earnings beyond those numbers. Reservists are paid by the day. Earnings start at $143/day as an Aviatorincreasing to $209/day at the rank of Corporaland higher as a member progresses in rank.

Living

The Air Force ensures you and your family are looked after. When you first become a Member and enter basic trainingaccommodationmealstrainingand a liveable wage are provided for you while you become accustomed to military life. Upon leaving basic and entering the workforceyou will receive guidance and assistance for the transition to your designated posting location. As it is for the rest of your military careerwhen work requires you to movethe CAF covers the costs.
