What is the issue you’re having?

I just recently got a new PC about two weeks agoand took the time to enjoy games I other wise couldn’t play before due to my old computer being out dated. About 3 days ago I decided I wanted to return to FiveM after taking my little breakI installed FiveM and GTA:V. I ran GTA:V Prior to launching FiveM. But it seems the moment I attempt to launch the FiveM Applicationit does the typical loading of “We’re getting there” and “Analyzing data” after the loading process it just instantly crashes and I don’t even make it into the program to be able to change buildsor even view the server list. The crash errors mostly range but the 3 most common are :

Early-Exit Trap
Adhesive.dll
fivem gta-streaming-five.dll

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

I have attempted to Reinstall both FiveM and GTA:V
I have reinstalled video card drivers
ensured drivers are up to date
updated BIOS
cleared cache multiple times
ran fivem in capability mode
made sure I am using the most recent versions of DirectX and .NET framework
Disabled both Firewall and Real Time protection
Steam Overlay is disabled
Discord Overlay is disabled
NVIDIA Overlay is Disabled
NVIDIA Game Filters and Photo Mode is Disbled

What server did you get this issue on?

No server

Additional comments

I do not know exactly what these “log files” are to uploadso if I am missing them and they are important please inform me how to find them and upload them for youas I want to fix this issue. I have no idea why every other game I play worksit just seems to be FiveM giving me problems.

Also I have not uploaded the crash zip for the fivem gta-streaming-five.dll error since it seems that no matter how many times I launch FiveM in the past 20 minutesits only Early-Exit Trap or Adhesive.dll

HeyI’m not sure this is what’s causing your problembut given that you’re getting multiple different errors and have a 14th gen Intel i7 CPUit could very well be.

Your CPUthe Intel i7-14700F is affected by the Intel microcode bug that can cause permanent damage or instability to the CPU if unfixed. We sometimes see crashes like this with people affected by this bugas the instability messes up the anti-cheat and causes this crash.

The remedy to this is to immediately update your motherboard’s BIOS. The longer you stay without updatesthe more you risk permanent damage to the CPUat which point even the update won’t fix the issues and you’ll have to get a replacement.

The process for updating the BIOS can be complicated and is dependent on your motherboard. I can help you with it if you wanteither here or over Discord (DM @gogsi123). To start offcan you run the Windows program dxdiag and make a screenshot of itso I can identify your motherboard and current BIOS version.

Thank you for taking the time to respondI had read up that it could be a bios related issue. Funny enough I did just update it tonight to version F5c from F4there does not appear to be any further updates at this time. I would also like to note that this PC was bought brand new from BestBuyso the time I had the PC is roughly since June 1stI hope the time between then and now has not caused permanent damage. If it hashow would I go about figuring it out? As I stated beforeI have no current issues doing anything else with the computerthe only issue is with FiveM. Here is a screen shot of the dxdiagfor some reason an error pops upand no matter how many times I re-open dxdiag it keeps popping up.

Yeah the PC seems too new to be permanently damaged  have you had these crashes after updating the BIOS?

The crashes for FiveM persist even after updating the biosthought not sure what is happening with DirectXI keep getting that message. Not sure how to resolve that since I can’t seem to repair or reinstall DirectX

You can ignore that DirectX message in dxdiagit happens often.

Wellif you want to rule out the CPU being damaged alreadyyou can do the following. Download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU). Install and run itgo to Manual Tuninglower the Performance Core Ratio to something like 50x and press Apply.

What this will do it limit your CPU to a boost frequency of 5.0 GHz. Since the damaged CPUs are only unstable at very high frequenciesif the crashes dissapear with this settingthen you almost certainly have a damaged CPU and will need to get a replacement. If the crashes continue at 50x ratiothen the problem is not the CPU but something else.

Example imageignore the values on itI took it from the internet:

I downloaded the programbut unfortunately do not see Manual Tuning. I see System InformationAdvanced TuningStress TestBench MarkingProfiles and Profile Pairing. If I go to Advanced tuningI see this

But I cannot click to edit the Ratio Multiplierit’s greyed out. On both P-Cores and E-Cores. Can’t seem to edit them

Hmm can you search for System Information in Windows and make a screenshot of it? I suspect you may have a B-series motherboard in your systemwhich doesn’t allow for adjusting of the multipliers.

I’ll have to think of another way to rule out the CPU if that’s the case

Ok yeahyour motherboard is B760Mwhich doesn’t allow for adjusting the clock ratios. Let’s try something else then.

We will temporarily disable Intel Turbo Boost on your CPU to see if that fixes your issue. Keep in mind this will likely make your PC quite slow and absolutely ruin your in-game FPS. It’s just to test if the CPU is stable or damaged.

Follow these steps to adjust the Windows Power Plan and disable boosting:

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Select “Change plan settings” for your current power plan (e.g.BalancedHigh Performance).
  • Click on “Change advanced power settings”.
  • Find the “Processor power management” section.
  • Set Maximum processor state to 99%. This will prevent the CPU from reaching its maximum frequencyeffectively disabling Turbo Boost
  • Press Apply and OK. Try launching FiveM after that.

To revert this after the testdo the same steps but set the Maximum processor state back to 100%.

No luckit just went straight to instantly crashing again the moment I opened FiveM. I would like to think the CPU is fine as literally nothing else is crashing on my computer other than FiveM. I can even play normal GTA:V with no issues.

So I’m not sure what it is with this computer and disliking FiveM lol

Can you just verify in your Task Manageron the Performance tab that the CPU isn’t going above 2.1 GHz when you have Maximum processor state set to 99% and starting FiveM. And if it doesn’twe’ll leave your CPU alone

The CPU instability in general is very weird and only triggers on some specific codelike compling shader or whatever the FiveM anti-cheat does. It’s possible to only have it happen in some games and not others.

Well even sitting here with the 99% set I can see its already running at around 4.88GHz to 5.01GHzkeep bouncing around between those. It doesn’t drop to 2.1GHz. I also got a new crash error when opening FiveM.

CfxCrashDump_2025_06_23_18_53_49.zip (1.2 MB)

Sorry I had a brain fart and was editing the High Performance planI set it to 99% on balanced now. It’s jumping from as low a 1.83GHz to 3.44GHz

But even so with the 99% set to the Balanced PlanFiveM is still just instantly crashing on me the moment I try to launch the program.

Not sure if this helps troubleshootbut it seems when I delete the adhesive.dll from FiveM directoryI can launch FiveM just fine. The crashes stop completely but now the only issue is I can’t join any server due to “No authentication ticket was specified”

Adhesive is required to play any online server (exception is only for LAN-hosted servers with sv_adhesive also disabledbut that’s not normal use)so yeahyou cant just delete it.
Questiondid you make sure to disable “Game Filters” in the Nvidia App?

YeahI have overlay and photomode / filters disabled. And the game still crashes the moment I try to open FiveM. There are occasions I make it to the main menu where I can click playbut it freezes up after about 30 seconds and crashes.

Note : I am aware that Adhesive is neededI just find it weird how the deletion of that file will literally stop FiveM from instantly crashing on me. I just won’t be able to join servers lol
