Hello alllong time listener first time caller here. I have a US Stove 6039 that I put a new 6041 board in (originally it had the ABC board) and I'm trying to burn corn in it. The display shows HR1thru10so I tried the holding heat range up/down to switch to corn modeno dicenothing happens. So I tried the tech manual "Adjusting Operational Constants"which it shows C-13 as being the adjustment. It does not go up to C-13stops at C-12. Any ideas on what is wrong or is there a way to set a good corn burn? I've played with manualand auto adjustments and the manual damper only to end up with the pot eventually filling full of corn. The whole back behind the fake brickexhaustand chimney pipe have been thoroughly cleaned. This thing will scream like an F-16 on afterburner with pelletsbut does not like corn.

Buttons are very sensitive I have had to try more the 25 times to push them at the same timekeep trying. I burned straight corn for 4 years when I first got stove. Even in corn mode I still had to lower feed rate and increase the draft rate. At times I would have to increase the agitator for short periods of time to stop it from over filling. Best thing I ever did was to add 25 percent pellets to the mix.
Shut down the stovethen unplug itleave it for a minute or twoplug it back in and watch for the board to flash a version number. Tell us the version number.
Your board should show HR1-HR9 or HR1-HR5 not 1-10.
I suspect that the board you have is like mine. The early ones were used in both the 39’s and 41’s but were programmed a little different for the 39’sno igniterno CR for corn preprogrammed even though you can get CR to show on the board. They were shipped set to burn corn not pellets. In other words not all four button control boards are exactly setup the same from the factory. Also the source of the board would help.
Get that version numberthen do a factory reset to the default settings and post what those settings are. Will need to know the PPH on the highest and lowest HR setting. Need to also know the numbers on the highest and lowest DF settings.
Also a little info on your installexhaust length90’s/45’s and a T? OAK or no OAK?
Correct me if I am wrongdifference between later 4 button 6039 board and the 6041 is the igniter connections on the 6041 board work and it needs a connection from a hopper lid switch or the stove won’t run. And the 6041 has more control options in the softwareotherwise wiired the same ? So if I install an igniter and hopper door switch the 6041 board should work in the 6039.

The big difference in the 6039 and 6041 controllers are the auger and agitator speeds.
The controls will swap out,
Double check the wiring first just to make sure.
The 6039 has
4 RPM auger (CW)
1 RPM agitator (CCW)
The 6041 has
1 RPM auger (CCW)
4 RPM agitator (CW)
Just the opposite,
If you put a 6041 controller in your 6039,
you will need different auger and agitator motors.
I have heard you can swap the winding and change the direction on SOME motors without negative results.
Some motor manufacturers say it decreases the life of the motors.
Thanks for the responsea little confused maybe...... motors have 2 wires going to themone would be power the other a common ground. Getting “power” from the board would make the motors continue to turn as with the old boardauger motor would have to turn the same way anywayagitator would work either way I would think. power from the board doesn’t dictate motor rotation. Unless.... Some motors if you turn the wires around will run in the opposite direction . That’s how the motor works that runs the window in your vehicle. The window switch changes the polarity.
There is a small gear box on each motor in the stove. I would assume direction of the shaft is coming from there. Personally I wouldn’t mess with them and let them run as before. Plus side is the new board gives more options to those motors as far as speed. Wiring diagram has same colour coded wires going to the same assembly in each stovewiring is on %100 with each board. Except for the addition of the igniter and door switch that need to be added.

the problem lies with the programming. you would have to change both your auger and agitator motors. the 6041 has 1 RPM auger (CCW)4 RPM agitator (CW) and probably your auger shaft. so putting that board in your stove with your componentswont feed enough pellets on high as yours does now on low because of the difference in feed timing and the shaft not the correct twist.
Ok stand correctedthe motors themselves dictate speed and direction. Little white tags on the motors indicate that. Looking around universal augers motors with the correct speed and rotation can be had for about $60 each. That should take care of the auger and agitateryou would be able to use the originals wither the new motors. Without having one in hand hard to tell about the motor fit. Picture and description looks like it should fit. I found a igniter with the tube for $75 and the 6041 board for $250. So for under $450 the conversion should be possible. Unless someone tells me the looked at and tried the universal motors and they won’t fit I am going to order one and mount it.
You need to do more research on your auger shaft! Are they identical for both stoves? What are the timings for each heat setting for both boards?
I don't understand why you want to go with the 6041 board. The only thing that it would add is the igniter but you will lose four heat ranges that you will get with the 6039 four button control board. 6039 has HR1-HR9while the 6041 only has HR1-HR5. In other words the 6039 gives you more options for how much heat you get out of the stove.
As others have said then you are going to run into problems with the motor rpms and direction of spin.
Check USSC web-site. They had the four button control boards reduced to around $176 a few weeks ago.
Go with what you want but I think you will end up happier with the 6039 four button board and spend a lot less money and headaches.
And the AUGER shafts are different.

The direction is not the important factor.
The difference is in the feed.
If you put a 6041 control board on a 6039 the speeds for the auger and agitator will be incorrect.
The 6039 has
4 RPM auger (CW)
1 RPM agitator (CCW)
The 6041 has
1 RPM auger (CCW)
4 RPM agitator (CW)
The 6041 control will feed correctly for a 1 rpm motor on a 6041.
A 6041 control on a 6039 stove will feed 4 times as much fuel and not adjust the combustion motor for that feed.
The motors and directions could be swapped to correct the problem.
Although some motor manufactures say changing directions shortens the life of the motor.
The direction of the motor and hence the gear box is determined by the orientation of the coil pack.
Flipping the coil will change direction of the motor and gear box.
As to the "new board" give more options to those motors as far as speed.
A 6039 board will give you feed up to 6.5 lb/hr.
the board is completely adjustable for feed air and all other parameters.
as tested by Firepot Peteyou cannot supply enough air to the stove to run that high of a feed and he has experimented and got his stove so hot it warped the metal above the door and had to reinforce it with angle iron.
You do not need 4 times the feed for your stove.
